The idea is simple: a website and job booking, tracking and invoicing system, set up once, with no monthly fees.

DJ's Web Solutions is run by Daniel Joubert in Perth, WA. It's the sister business of DJ's Safety Solutions, my WHS consulting business.

It started with my dad's lawn mowing business. He needed a simple website where customers could book him online, and an easier way to keep track of his jobs and send invoices. So I built him one: a website with online booking, and a Job Book app on his phone. He opens a job and the customer's details are right there, with one tap to call, text or get directions in Maps. When the job's done he enters what he did, sends the invoice on the spot, and opens the next job to head to.

Building it made me realise there's a gap in the market. Most booking and invoicing systems lock small businesses into monthly subscriptions, often for features they never use. Plenty of sole traders and small teams just want something simple that works, that they pay for once and own, with no ongoing monthly costs.
